The colors of the flag are from of 1st and 4th quarter that says: "The blue color represents the calm sky of Brazil, under which we shelter as a small piece of native ground". The red color of the roses is our affirmation of faith and love of the Christian doctrine… or as a symbol of freedom as used in the Federal Republic flag of Piratini. The color silver (white) represents the noble, lofty and peaceful character of our people, through its example of serenity at all times. The triangles that bear the colors, represent three bands of the the flag of the RS, as proposed by a famous councilman, and began as the official flag of our beloved land, Farroupilha State, dating from the great revolution: Freedom, Equality and Humanity.
