Description of the flag

The town has recently undergone a rebranding which replaced the flag with a new (albeit, uglier) flag. I have attached an image of the flag as well as a digital copy as it is much clearer in hopes that you could update the page. Thanks! Love the site!

The leaf appears to be a tulip tree leaf, it is plastered on all the new logos and websites of Tillsonburg, previously a maple leaf was on most of the town's signs. I could not think of any obvious symbolism behind the tulip leaf. There is however a large beautiful tulip tree that stands next to the Annandale National Historic Site downtown. It could be related but I am not sure.

A white flag with an otter-like animal standing on a plinth, a garland of yellow maple leaves tied with a dark blue ribbon, the date 1872 in dark blue, and the name in large letters above, dominated by a T almost the entire height of the flag.
