The municipality of Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine (12,054 inhabitants in 2014; 15,484
ha) covers most of the archipelago of the Magdalen Islands, located in the
center of Gulf of Saint Lawrence, equidistant between Prince Edward Island and
Newfoundland. The municipality was established in 2002 as the merger of the
former municipalities of Cap-aux-Meules, Fatima, Grande-Entrée, Grosse-Île,
Havre-aux-Maisons, L'Étang-du-Nord, and L'Île-du-Havre-Aubert. Grosse-Île

Communauté maritime des Îles-de-la-Madeleine/Agglomération
des Îles-de-la-Madeleine is both a county-level equivalent and agglomeration in
the Gaspésie / Îles-de-la-Madeleine region. It was established in 2006. No flag
