OTTAWA, ON – July 3, 2012 – RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson was joined by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, for the unveiling of the RCMP Aboriginal Policing Services Ensign and badge. The event was part of the RCMP’s famous Sunset Ceremonies that took place on June 28th at the Canadian Police College.
RCMP Aboriginal Policing Services Ensign and badge. The ensign incorporates symbols representing the three Aboriginal cultures the RCMP serves – eagle feathers for the First Nations, Inuksuk for the Inuit and the Assumption sash for the Métis. The maple leaf symbolizes the national mandate of RCMP Aboriginal Policing Services.
