Before the current symbols, another set of flag and coat of arms, as seen on Wikipedia, were in use different from the flag presented in FOTW. Valentin Poposki, 5 June 2024
Regarding the flag reported by Olivier Touzeau, 16 August 2006, I am quite sure his image reflects what was in use back then, and not just a poor rendering of the one Valentin contributed, even though it’s the same basic design. Sadly, the official website as archived as of August 2006 https://web.archive.org/web/20060701123600/http://www.mejillones.cl/ shows almost all images as broken links (because they used a “modern” way to create website links which quickly become obsolete while classic href and src links work perfectly to this day).
