It is summer season in South America. Beaches are popular places where crowding can hardly been avoided, and therefore, potential hotspots for COVID-19 propagation. Control measures have been implemented since the beginning of the year in Chile and Uruguay.

In Chile, specific flags are hoisted on the watch posts of the beaches of the region of Valparaíso when human density makes physical distancing between groups no longer possible. [1,2,3,4]
