Wald Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, issuant from base a triplemount Vert with flame Gules on either peak, issuant from sinister flanch a winged dragon Gules tongued Or holding an eradicated fir Vert by his claws.
The dragon is taken from the arms of the Benedictine Reichenbach Monastery, which ruled the major part of the current municipality in the Medieval. The eradicated fir is representing a wood (German: Wald) and thus canting. Mount and flames are reminding on the historical connections between the Benedictine Frauenzell Monastery and the Lordship of Brennberg (= burning mountain). The tinctures red and white are those of the Bishopric of Regensburg, which also owned large estates in the region.
