Gechingen Coat of Arms

Shield Or, issuant from base a triplemount Azure, upon the mount a lion rampant Gules, holding a crozier Azure in bend by his forepaws.
Meaning:
Gechingen was mentioned first around 1110, referring to a donation, given to the Hirsau Monastery by the local rulers. They were vassals of the Counts of Calw. By heritage the village became a possession of the Palatine Counts of Tübingen, who sold it in 1308/1309 to the Hirsau Monastery. 1535 it became a possession of Württemberg, where it belonged to the monasterial district of Merklingen. The lion on the triplemount is taken from the arms of the Counts of Calw. The crozier is stressing the rule of the monastery.
