Oberpöring Coat of Arms

Shield Argent parted by a bend Sable, charged with three balls Or, above left an inescutcheon Sable charged with three lozenges Argent in fess, issuant from base a triplemount Vert.
Meaning:
The triplemount is taken from the arms of the Benedictine Niederalteich Monastery, which had been an important manorial lord until its secularisation in 1803. The local history had been embossed by the districts (Bavarian: Hofmarken) of Oberpöring and Niederpöring for centuries. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Ecker family, who owned the Oberpöring district between 1394 and 1562. The fess with balls is atken from the arms of the Pienzenauer family, who owned the Niederpöring district between 1615 and 1797. Please note that the inescutcheon sometimes is erroneously replaced by a white one charged with three blue Bavarian lozenges.
