Eichendorf Coat of Arms

Shield Gules two bends Argent, in canton a ball Argent.
Meaning:
The arms are known by a seal from the late 15th century, known by prints since 1514. The arms are basically those of Landau upon Isar in counterchanged tinctures with the ball as distinguishing mark. It is supposed that the similarities have their origin in the fact that Eichendorf, mentioned as a market town in 1264, gained the privileges of Landau in 1358. The ball was only displayed on seals. All coloured images of the arms since the 16th century don´t show the ball, which was introduced again by Otto Hupp.

The colours of the banner and the arms are traditional.
