Gottfrieding Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a bend bretessed Argent, at sinister Argent in chief a pile embowed reversed Gules, touching a triplemount of the same issuant from base, chief Sable two bends Argent.
Meaning:
The chief is reminding on the Seemann family, who owned the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) since the middle of the 14th century until the beginning of the 15th century. The bend bretessed is taken from the arms of their successors, the Counts of Ortenburg. The sinister half displays the arms of the Cistercian Aldersbach Monastery, which owned the district from 1637 until 1803, when it was secularised.
