Wallerstein Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Gules a chevron reversed Argent, beneath Or a chevron Argent.
Meaning:
The oldest seal around 1567 displayed an angel holding the current arms in a Spanish shield. A coloured painting from 1811 displayed a misinterpretation of the robe's quilling as an initial "W".The arms are a variant of the family arms of the Counts of Oetiingen. Between 1818 and 1835 the town lost the right to bear proper arms.

According to a reliable tradition without existing documents the arms were granted in 1567 by the Counts of Oettingen-Wallerstein.
