Haynrode Coat of Arms

The shield is green; a silver, rampant lion, holding a golden mattock in his paws and wearing a golden helmet with silver and red decorations, among those seven bicoloured little flags.
Meaning:
The lion is taken from the arms of the Bültzingslöwen family, former local rulers. The mattock is representing the suffix "-rode", meaning that the village was established by forest clearance.
