Röhrig Coat of Arms

The shield is silver. Issuant from base is a green mount charged with a silver barrulet wavy. Issuant from mount is a green bulrush seeded black, flanked by a red bottle at dexter and a red heraldic rose seeded golden and barbed black at sinister.
Meaning:
The bulrush (also called Röhricht in German) is obviously canting. The rose here probably is an attribute of St. Elizabeth, the local patron saint. Elizabeth always supported the poor people in the region. But her husband was upset. Usually she gave bread to them. As her husband wanted to punish her for giving away bread, the legend says that the bread was changed into roses in her basket. The crowned head of Elizabeth, flanked by two roses already appeared on local seals until 1953.
