Uder Coat of Arms

The shield is divided by a silver barrulet wavy. Above right in a red field is a silver 6-spokes wheel. Below in a blue field is a silver scallop.
Meaning:
The barrulet wavy is representing Leine River. The wheel is representing the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers. The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, the local patron saint. The blue colour is representing St. Mary, the patron saint of the Eichsfeld region.
