Igensdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or a demi-eagle Sable armed and tongued Gules and couped per pale, at sinister Argent a branch Gules of a cherry tree with two cherries and two leaves.
In 1972 Igensdorf incorporated the municipalities of Dachstadt, Pettensiedel, Pommer, Rüsselbach and Stöckach. Around the town there is one of Germany's greatest orchards, specialised in cherry cultivation, on the arms represented by the cherry branch. The eagle is part of the lesser arms of the Free Imperial City of Nürnberg, as the town belonged to the Nürnbergian Hiltpoltstein district from the beginning of the 16th century until the beginning of the 19th century. The cross is referring to St. George, being patron saint of a local church.
