Gammelsdorf Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a lance issuant Argent, superimposed by a mace Or in bend sinister and a crossbow's bolt of the same in bend.
Meaning:
All weapons are reminding on the battle of Gammelsdorf in 1313, where Duke Ludwig of Bayern, later German King Ludwig the Bavarian, defeated Duke Friedrich the Fair of Österreich. The lance is symbolising knighthood, while the other weapons are stressing the role of the foot soldiers. Since 1842 a Neo Gothic monument is reminding on the battle. The tinctures are those of Bayern.
