Meaning:
The Reinhardsbrunn Monastrery tried to establish a market in 1209. The town gained city rights in 1597. The pattern appeared on a local seal from 1645, is however probably older. The ensemble with farmer and mattock (German: Rodehacke) is considered to be canting.
