The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a blue - yellow - blue vertical triband with ratio 1:2:1. The coat of arms is in the middle of the central stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue shield is a golden (= yellow) statant monk, flanked by two upright branches of yew having three berries each.
Meaning:
According to source the colours are symbolizing the affiliation of the village to the lordship of Rostock in the middle ages. The monk is canting and reminding on the monks, who settled down here in the 13th century. The branches are symbolizing an 800-years old yew tree in the municipality.
