Burgpreppach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, at dexter Or a sinister facing fox rampant Gules with base embattled Azure, at sinister Gules a sinister demi-millwheel Argent with base wavy Or.
Meaning:
The fox is taken from the arms of the Barons of Birnbach and Dornheim and is also representing the numerous kins of noblemen, who lived in the area. The local castle was acquired in 1344 by the Birnbach branch of the barons, who had been the most important manorial lords. The base embattled is alluding to the castle. The tinctures red, silver and gold are taken from the arms of the Stewards of Wetzhausen. They also owned large estates and had been reeves of parts of the current municipality. The base wavy is a representation of the Preppach River. The millwheel is alluding to the watermills alongside the river in the past. The combined base is also canting, alluding to a castle (German: Burg) and the Preppach River.
