In 1964 Oberriedenberg and Unterriedenberg merged. The fess wavy is representing the creek, which divided both villages, which belonged to different territories. The dexter half is representing Oberriedenberg, which belonged to the Bishopric of Würzburg, its tinctures are red and white. The sinister half is representing Unterriedenberg, which belonged to the Fulda Imperial Abbey, its tinctures are white and black. The triplemount is canting, representing a mountain (German: Berg).
