Ramsthal Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a grapevine Azure leafed Vert, chapé Gules, at dexter a mitre Or and at sinister two bends sinister of the same.
Meaning:
The grapevine is symbolising the importance of viticulture. The mitre is symbolising the Benedictine Aura Monastery, established by Bishop Otto of Bamberg (1108 - 1113) and secularised in 1564. Ramsthal was first mentioned in 1122, when it was donated to the monastery. The bends sinister are taken from the family arms of the Lords of Hutten, who had rights of sovereignty from the 15th until the 17th century.
