Geiselwind Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Azure a flagellum Or in bend, beneath Argent on mound issuant Vert a sighthound salient Sable tongued Gules and gorged Or.
Meaning:
The current pattern was first displayed on a local seal from 1713 in a Baroque cartouche. The basic tinctures were fixed in 1835. They are those of the Princes of Schwrazenberg. The flagellum (German: Geißel) and the hiund (German: Wind(hund)) are canting elements.
