Rott Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a key Gules and an axe Gules bladed Azure in saltire, in base a fess wavy Azure charged with a sabot Argent.
The fess wavy is representing the Lech River and the Rottbach, a local creek. The axe is reminding on the fact that the municipality came to being by forest clearance. The key is taken from the arms of Wessobrunn Abbey, to which the local paish belonged between 1226 and 1803. The sabot is an attribute of St. Vigilius and is alluding to his chapel, demolished in 1783.
