Ottobrunn Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a column Argent topped by a ball with a lion couchant at base between two firs of the same.
Meaning:
The Otto-Column is the distinctive local memorial, reminding on King Otto of Greece taking leave of his father King Ludwig I of Bayern in 1832 on the pastures of Ottobrunn, then still belonging to Unterhaching (until 1955). The lion is representing the Wittelsbach kin, to which both kings belonged. The firs are alluding to the past, as the village was established by forest clearance in a wood. The tinctures are those of Bayern.

The arms were approved on 30 April 1956. The banner was approved on 11 March 1983 by GDir. The old banner had never been approved officially.
