Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a green - white - green vertical triband with ratio 1:2:1. The coat of arms without shield is in the centre of the flag in the white stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver ( =white) field is a green oak top by a red eagle armed golden.
Meaning:
The eagle is alluding to the margraves of Brandenburg, who founded the first settlement about 1250. The oak is canting. The name means "oak in the wood". The pattern is known from seals since 1307.
