Polling Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a stag passant Gules, chief Azure a stemmed fleur-de-lis Argent in fess.
Meaning:
The stag i staken from the family arms of the Lords of Polling, who lived in the village between the 12th and 14th century. The pattern is known from seals of the family. The fleur-de-lis is symbolising Raitenhaslach Monastery, manorial lord until 1803. It is furthermore an attribute of St. Mary, who had been the patron saint of all local Cistercian abbeys in the area since the 15th century.
