Sollstedt Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure and eradicated linden Or with an inescutcheon chequered of Gules and Argent fixed on the stem, at sinister Or a bear rampant Sable armed Or and collared Gules.
The linden is taken from the oldest local seal. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Counts of Hohnstein and was added later. The bear is referring to a nickname of the inhabitants, as they were called bear catchers by their neighbours.
