Kohlberg Coat of Arms

Shield Argent an impending branch raguly Sable in fess, issuant from base a triplemount Vert, chief barry bendy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
Kohlberg gained the rights of a market town probably in 1442 together with the grant of the arms. The chief is alluding to the fact that the village was ruled by the Wittelsbach kin since 1248. Branch and mount are canting elements, referring to a charcoal kiln. The branch then was denoted as "glowing coal". The pattern changed just in minor details. Otto Hupp (1925) erroneously painted a blue mount.

The banner probably has never been approved officially. The arms were approved in 1442 by Duke Johann of Bayern.
