Obergünzburg Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter parted per fess of Gules and Azure, at sinister Argent, in chief a half length portrait of a female saint crowned Or and dressed Sable, in base parted by three bars wavy Azure.
The saint is Hildegard of Bingen, patron saint of the Princely Abbey of Kempten, the dexter half is also referring to the abbey. The bars wavy are a representation of the name giving Günz River. The existence of the pattern is proven since the 16th century on seals of town and court.
