The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a white over black over yellow horizontal tricolour with centred arms.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Gules, issuant from base a mount Vert, upon the mount a mounted knight in armour Azure with shield and lance Or, shield, crest and horse rug are displaying a tricolour white over black over yellow.
Meaning:
The knight (German: Ritter) is a canting element. Shield, crest and rug are displaying the arms of the Hude kin, name giver of the municipality. The local branch of the family was first mentioned in 1185 and lived in the municipality until the 18th century. The flag colours are repeating the colours of the family arms of the Hude kin.
The arms were approved in 1938 by Oberpräsident of Prussian Hannover Province.
