Wittibreut Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a Tau cross Argent under two mattocks of the same in saltire.
Meaning:
The Tau cross here is an attribute of St. Philip, one of the three patron saints of the local parish church. The mattocks (Bavarian: Reuten) are canting and referring to the fact that the village was established by forest clearance in the Medieval. The tinctures white and blue are those of the Wittelsbach kin, ruler of the region for centuries.
Please note that on flag modified arms are in use, displaying on a white shield white mattocks with black lining and a black Tau cross.
