Kuppenheim Coat of Arms

Shield Or a bend Gules, in sinister chief a trefoil Vert, in dexter base a wolf trap, or double hook, set in bend.
Kuppenheim was a possession of the Counts of Eberstein, in 1288 it became a possession of the Margraviate of Baden. It was a market town since 1318 and a city in 1388. The first seal with prints from 1477 and all the following seals until the 17th century displayed the bend alone, symbolising the sovereignty of the margraves. Since the 18th century trefoil and wolf trap were added as distinguishing marks, perhaps being the original local symbols. The pattern was in use as arms since 1901.
