Loffenau Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, an isosceles triangle Argent, superimposed by an abbot's crozier Or in pale.
Meaning:
In 1266 the Counts of Eberstein ceded some estates to the Cistercian Herrenalb Abbey. The abbot's became local rulers in the end of the 13th century. In 1555 the village together with the abbey became a dominion of Württemberg. The pattern of the arms was based upon a local symbol, a goose-foot. Due to a stylised depiction it was later on considered to be a triangle with crozier. The tinctures silver and red had also been those of the Counts of Eberstein and the Cistercians.
