Kirchdorf Coat of Arms

Shield Or, issuant from base a triplemount Vert charged with a fleur-de-lis Argent, issuant from its central peak a fir Vert, flanked by a crozier Gules in pale at dexter and a mattock Gules in pale at sinister.
Meaning:
The green triplemount in a golden shield displays the old arms of the Benedictine Niederaltaich Abbey and is referring to the close connections between municipality and abbey since the 12th century until 1803, when the abbey had been secularised. The abbey and its Rinchnach Provostry started the peopling of the Bavarian Forest in the area. The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary and is referring to her local pilgrimage church. The crozier of an abbot (German: Abt) is representing the former municipality of Abtschlag, the mattock is representing the former municipality of Schlag, which means forest clearance. Mattocks had also been part of the arms of abbey and municipality of Rinchnach. Fir and triplemount are referring to the location of the municipality in the Bavarian Forest.
