Bad Aibling Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a knight in armour Azure mounted on a horse salient Argent and piercing a dragon reguardant Vert on base Vert by a lance Or.
The knight is St. George, disguised as a Bavarian duke, as the horse rug is lozengy of Argent and Azure, which is not mentioned in blazon. The market town developed since the 14th century. Seals are known since 1374. All seals displayed the mounted saint, sometimes with a shield with the St.George's cross, sometimes without. The dragon was added since 1546. Coloured images of the arms between 1565 and 1625 also displayed the princess, which appears in the legend of the saint, kneeling on a mount in the background. The current tinctures are based on the image of Otto Hupp. Since 1844 Aibling became a spa.
