Ramerberg Coat of Arms

Shield Sable a kettle Or over flames Gules, mantle Argent, at dexter three lozenges Azure in fess, at sinister an ibex torso Gules.
The lozenges are taken from the arms of the Benedictine Attel Abbey, where they had been in use since 1440. The abbey owned most local estates, was also manorial lord and local ruler (German: Obmann) until 1803. The boiling kettle displays the family arms of Abraham Kern, he was a citizen of Wasserburg and acquired the castle and district (German: Hofmark) of Zellerreit in 1605. His descendants owned both until 1843. The ibex is taken from the family arms of the Katzbach kin, who owned castle and district of Katzbach, south of Ramerberg between the 12th and 14th century.
