Regenstauf Coat of Arms

Shield Azure two fish Argent in saltire under a rainbow of Gules, Vert and Or.
Meaning:
The oldest local seal with prints since 1498 displayed the same pattern on a Spanish shield with a circumscription on a folded scroll. The arms remained basically the same, only the tinctures of the canting rainbow changed a few times. The fish are symbolising the Regen River. The flag colours are those of the Palatinate.

Banner and arms were granted in 1470 by Duke Albrecht IV of Bayern-München to the city and its citzens. The lost charter was replaced in 1614 by Palatine Count Philipp Ludwig of Pfalz-Neuburg in 1614.
