The amt Arensharde was established at 01.01.2008 with the municipalities of former amts Schuby (with the municipalities Hüsby, Idstedt municipality, Lürschau, Neuberend, Schuby ) and Silberstedt (with the municipalities Bollingstedt, Ellingstedt, Hollingstedt, Jübek, Silberstedt, Treia)  which were dissolved.
*An "Amt" is a combination of several municipalities into an administrative community.
