[Jelmstorf banner] 3:5 image by Klaus-Michael Schneider, 5 Oct 2007

    Description of banner:
The ratio is approx 11:5. It is a white-green vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is slightly shifted to the hoist.
    Description of coat of arms:
In a silver(=white) field is a green mountain having three peaks. The central peak is nearly reaching the top edge. The shield has a wavy silver(=white) base. Above the base is a golden(=yellow) carrier's wagon, loaded with three bales of freight of the same colour.
    Meaning:
The three bales are symbolizing the villages of Jelmstorf, Addenstorf and Bruchtorf, forming the municipality. The wagon is symbolizing that the municipality is located at the old "road of salt". The wheels can also be found in the arms of Samtgemeinde Bevensen. They are symbolizing that Jelmstorf is part of Bevensen. The mountain is symbolizing an field of ancient graves in Addenstorf. The base is symbolizing the Ilmenau creek passing Bruchtorf.
