The municipal flag of La Romana can be seen in photographs online here, here, and here. The flag features the municipal coat of arms centered on a white field. The coat of arms is quartered much like the Dominican Republic national flag - 1st and 4th, blue; 2nd and 3rd, red; with a gold and white cross overall. The first quarter shows a gold sun rising over two wavy white lines representing the ocean. The second quarter shows a gold rampant bull over two white fleur-de-lis. The third quarter shows three gold spears, and the fourth quarter shows a white cogwheel above two sugar cane stalks. Randy Young, 27 January 2016

The city lies on the southeastern coast of the country, and was founded in 1897 as an oil town. Today, the city is a major tourism and economic hub, including one of the largest commercial ports in the country.
