On 29 April 2017, Cucalambe Del Cerro posted to FOTW-FB a series of five graphics about Puerto Plata province in the Dominican Republic. The graphics included a map of the province and its place within the Dominican Republic, the coat of arms of the province, the reported flag of the province, as well as photos of buildings and beaches in the province. There was no additional information regarding the source material for the depiction of the flag, and the post prompted no discussion or comments.
The flag shown on the graphic was heavily pixelated and a bit blurry, so I re-created the flag graphic based on what was posted on FOTW-FB. The provincial flag is shown as a horizontal tricolor of red-white-blue, in proportions of roughly 1-4-1. In the canton, stretching from the red into the white, is a yellow sun with 32 rays alternating between straight and wavy. The top of the blue section at the bottom is wavy. Centered on the white section is the coat of arms of the province, supported by two trees. Randy Young, 4 September 2020
