Background

Asociación Popular de Ahorros y Préstamos (APAP, People's Association for Savings and Loan) is a private, mutualized financial institution established by Law No. 5,897 of 14 May 1963. The task of APAP is to push saving and loan for the purchase, building or improvement of family homes. Originally oriented to the middle class, APAP subsequently supported the production sectors of the country and increased its participation to the national finance system. APAP is organized in 50 branches located in Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Francisco de Macorís, Bávaro, Verón, San Cristóbal and Haina.
