The flag of INEFI features the agency's logo centered on a white field. The logo has a blue rendition of the Greek statue Discobolus, the Discus Thrower, with a blue ring representing the motion of his arm as he spins and throws. Below the figure are blue and red letters spelling the agency's acronym. Taken with the white field, the colors represent the colors of the national flag. A photograph showing the INEFI flag with the national flag and the Ministry of Education flag can be seen online here. Randy Young, 18 December 2015
The Instituto Nacional de Educación Física (INEFI, National Physical Education Institute) is an agency of the Ministry of Education. INEFI is "responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the plans and programs of physical education and school sports to ensure comprehensive quality education at all levels across the country," according to the organization's mission statement. The agency traces its history to 1929 when the first Director General of Physical Education was appointed by the government. INEFI, in its current form, was created in January 1998 by Law No. 33-98.
