Description

The official description says, "two horizontal fesses [stripes] of equal width green over blue, in the middle a yellow fess". This would give the idea of a thinner middle stripe, but the illustration shows a horizontally striped green-yellow-blue, proportions 1+2+1. Ratio 2:3. Colours from the arms. Flag adopted 14th February 1994. Source for image and text: Fluvià 2001.

The colours on the coat-of-arms are from top to bottom gold-green-(some silver)-blue and the green element is (in my humble opinion) the main one since it represents a valley or vall. I do not quite understand why was the yellow stripe given such relevance on the flag. It gives it quite a national flag look.
