Presentation of Albuñuelas

The municipality of Albuñuelas (aka Las Albuñuelas; 836 inhabitants in 2017 vs. 2,472 in 1930; 14,005 ha) is located 40 km south of Granada and 10 km west of Lecrín. The municipality is composed of the villages of Albuñuelas and La Loma (111 inh.).

Symbols of Albuñuelas

The flag and arms of Albuñuelas, adopted on 8 June 2018 by the Municipal Council and submitted on 1 August 2018 to the Directorate General of the Local Administration, are prescribed by a Resolution adopted on 5 September 2018 by the Directorate General of the Local Administration and published on 11 September 2018 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 176, pp. 70-71.
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 3:2 (length to width), divided in three horizontal stripes of the same width, the first, green, the central, white, and the lower, blue with three white wavy stripes. In the center, the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Shield in Spanish shape. Per fess, 1. Argent two mounts vert issuant from the flanks a stag passant gules a base argent two fesses wavy azure, 2. Or an orange tree eradicated vert surrounded dexter by a cross gules and sinister by a crescent sinisterwise of the same. The shield surmounted by a Spanish Royal crown closed.
