Description

The flag of the municipality of Carreño is white, with a red bordure of a width equivalent to 1/5 the heighth of the flag, as specified in the Royal Decree of July 30th, 1845, for the flag of the Maritime Province of Gijon, and the municipality's CoA in the center.

The flag's design is based on the register flag of Gijon, as the Harbour of Candás was an important port of the maritime province. The CoA of the municipality, adopted in 1866, is the armorial of the household "Carreño."
