Municipality of Tomares in the Province of Sevilla, Andalucia, has its own symbols. The coat of arms was approved by the General Directorate of Local Administration on 22.04.2013, but the flag seems to be unofficial.
Coat of arms: Description: Shield divided into saltires: 1 and 4 gules, the Cross of the Order of Saint John in silver; 2 and 3 (i.e., on the flanks) verte, a tower or. It is surmounted by the Royal Crown of Spain .
Meaning: The coat of arms of Tomares reminds us that until 1881 it was united with San Juan de Aznalfarache , as both elements of the shield also appear on that of the neighboring town. The Maltese cross also appears on the coats of arms of Espartinas , Alcolea del Río , La Rinconada , San Juan de Aznalfarache , Tocina , and Lora del Río . The saltire cross refers to the coat of arms of the Count-Duke of Olivares.
