Presentation of Montmélian

The municipality of Montmélian (4,083 inhabitants in 2013; 569 ha) is located 10 km south-east of Chambéry. The fortress of Montmélianwas, one of the most redoutable in Europe, was destroyed by order of Louis XIV in 1706.

Flag of Montmélian

The flag of Montmélian is red with a Savoy cross (white on red) placed along the hoist and extending over 40% of the flag length. There is no fimbriation between the red field around the cross and the main field.
