The Musée national de la Marine (National Navy Museum) is a maritime museum located in the Palais de Chaillot, Trocadéro, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. It has sites at Brest, Port-Louis, Rochefort (Musée National de la Marine de Rochefort), Toulon. The permanent collection originates in a collection that dates back to King Louis XV.

The current flag of the Museum is blue with its current logo: photo (2025).
About the logo, adopted in october 2019, see the Museum's website ans this official video.
"As part of the renovation of its Paris site, the National Navy Museum partnered with the agency Carré Noir (Publicis) - through a skills-based sponsorship - to design a new visual identity. The goal was to establish a new brand identity that reflects the future museum’s positioning and ambitions, both in Paris and at its coastal locations. This image transformation process is an integral part of the museum’s broader overhaul.
The new visual identity is directly linked to the museum’s foundational element - its very DNA: the sea. Thanks to artificial
intelligence, the museum’s new logo and entire brand identity are connected to the oceans. In partnership with Shom (the national hydrographic service), the museum collected data on swell movements using a buoy located off the coast of Brest. The new logo evolves in rhythm with the swell, visually interpreting this data by playing with varying vibrations. Thus, the logo features variations that reflect the diversity and vitality of the oceans. While dynamic and ever-changing, the logo remains a structural anchor for the museum; it is instantly recognizable regardless of its specific modifications or "state." The blue color palette, the chosen typography, and the wave-like patterns integrated into the museum’s name itself (inspired by Op Art) are key components of this new identity, making the National Navy Museum immediately identifiable. This new visual identity mirrors the new museum itself: sensitive, evolving, and alive."

The flag of the Musée national de la marine is hoisted on a small mast in a recess at the feet of the Paradis Tower of the castle of Brest. The flag is light blue, with the emblem of the museum. The emblem is a stylized hollow compass rose delimited by white squares, one of them being replaced by a white letter "M".

A flag of the Museum could be observed in the annex in Rochefort in 2011/2012. The flag was blue with the logo of the Museum (photo, photo).

Another sighting in Rochefort, dated 2007: photo.
The Museum has adopted a new logo in 2019, so the flag is obsolete. There is no evidence of use of the flag elsewhere than in Rochefort, hoisted over the Sun Gate of the former arsenal. The other sites, as expected for national institutions, fly the French national flag when they fly any.

The Sun Gate flies now the flag of Rochefort, in rectangular format, or a white flag charged with the logo of "Arsenal des Mers" (photo, 2022).
"Arsenal de Mers" (Arsenal of the Seas) is the name of the site, inaugurated on 6 July 2019, which groups the National Navy Museum, the Royal Rope Factory, the docks where the "Hermione" is moored and other recreational places, which can all be acceded with a single entrance ticket [source: France Bleu, 6 July 2019 and Official website].
